Description
The Brand Task Force is an operational task force of the American Camp Association (ACA) that is charged to provide volunteer leadership to the establishment and implementation of ACA’s strategic plan work.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of ACA and basic understanding of the summer camp industry, field of camp, and preferably with experience attending or working at a camp prior to joining this committee.
- Professional experience in marketing, advertising, branding, brand development, brand positioning, trend forecasting, creative disciplines, communications, public relations, or design preferable.
Experience
- Experience with strategic thinking, high-level planning, and developing implementation or go-to-market planning and strategy.
- Ability to lead through informal channels and influence.
- Strong communication skills through a variety of mediums.
Participation Includes
- Demonstrating a collaborative spirit, solution-oriented thinking, and open-mindedness.
- Developing recommendations related to a significant marketing campaign to increase the awareness of:
- The understanding of the value of a camp experience
- The understanding of the value of ACA and ACA Accreditation in advancing health, safety, and risk management at camp
- The value of quality camp employment experiences for diverse and inclusive audiences
- Developing recommendations for a framework to achieve ACA’s branding, brand development, and brand identity goals that meet the expectations of all audiences impacted by ACA’s brand identity.
- Making recommendations specific to for ACA and recommending priorities for initiatives to best advance those goals.
- Patience and a willingness to compromise and find solutions that meet the expectations of all stakeholders involved in making the final recommendations related to the ACA brand identity.
- Researching and identifying trends in consumer preferences related to brand identity.
- Committee will provide input and recommendations; however, ACA staff will make final decisions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Developing recommendations related to a significant marketing campaign to increase the awareness of:
- The understanding of the value of a camp experience
- The understanding of the value of ACA and ACA Accreditation in advancing health, safety, and risk management at camp
- The value of quality camp employment experiences for diverse and inclusive audiences
- Developing recommendations for a framework to achieve ACA’s branding, brand development, and brand identity goals that meet the expectations of all audiences impacted by ACA’s brand identity.
- Follow all applicable ACA policies and procedures.
- Providing feedback and creative thinking, positioning, and briefing as needed in writing.
Time Commitment
The Brand Task Force Committee member commits to:
- Serve the length of the task force ideation, implementation, and publication of brand identity.
- Current timeline of work is forecasted to likely not extend past the end of December of 2022.
- Attend ACA Brand Task Force meetings via Zoom
Communicate with ACA Staff, the Brand Task Force Chair(s) and other volunteers in a timely and professional manner
